Ever since he became one of the league’s best players, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has always been targeted by other teams. For point guard Dennis Schroder, though, the Brooklyn Nets may have something in store for the Greek Freak in a subtle hint he dropped recently.
Giannis Antetokounmpo kickstarted his NBA career as the 15th overall pick for the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2013 Draft, sharing the class with notable players like Rudy Gobert, Victor Oladipo, and Steven Adams. Although his playing time was limited as a rookie, but he exhibited immense raw potential.

As the years went by, Antetokounmpo’s progress soared. In 2017, he earned the title of Most Improved Player, boasting impressive averages of 22.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game. Further establishing himself as one of the league’s premier athletes, he secured consecutive MVP awards in 2019 and 2020.
The pinnacle of Antetokounmpo’s journey arrived in 2021 when he led the Bucks to a championship triumph against the Phoenix Suns. Despite subsequent playoff setbacks due to injuries and roster challenges, Antetokounmpo is undeniably the franchise’s best player, which can be seen in his career averages of 23.4 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.1 assists, and 1.9 blocks per contest.
Dennis Schroder Hints Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Is a Possible Trade Target For The Brooklyn Nets

While Antetokounmpo is often the topic of trade requests, including a fake one that surfaced recently, the Bucks All-Star may be the target of Brooklyn in the coming months. This can be seen in a hint Nets star Dennis Schroder dropped in an article posted on Braunschweiger-Zeitung.
“Brooklyn is a really cool, great organization, quite family-oriented. I’d definitely like to stick around for the long haul,” Schroder said. “My agent and I feel like the Nets liked how I contributed. I’ve brought in more defense, teamwork and displayed leadership, but if someone as exceptional as Giannis Antetokounmpo or another superstar wants to join Brooklyn, the Nets could make deals to acquire that player … and that’s why nothing is certain in the NBA,” the article stated.
At this point in time, there have been no major rumblings about Antetokounmpo being moved. With a full offseason of preparation under head coach Doc Rivers, the Greek Freak and company are expected to bounce back in the upcoming season.

Although there is little chance for any trade to happen, the offseason is almost upon us and surprising things can still happen. In any case, a lot of eyes will be on the franchise to see what moves they’ll make in the coming months.
