The Wisconsin football staff has added a new preferred walk-on running back to their 2025 recruiting class late last week.
Harry Bortolotti, a Whitefish Bay native and brother of current Wisconsin running back Grover Bortolotti, joined the Badgers on the spot after his offer. The running back will join his brother on the Badgers roster which he feels is a “dream come true”. The two-way player recorded 17 touchdowns and nearly 1,200 yards this past season while adding 28 tackles and an interception.
Wisconsin Football Staff Adds PWO Running Back Harry Bortolotti

Following a successful showing at camp, the Wisconsin football staff extended a preferred walk-on offer to a talented running back. 2025 Whitefish Bay running back and defensive back Harry Bortolotti was offered a walk-on position by Coach Devon Spalding and committed on the spot.
When asked about the offer, Bortolotti stated, “As soon as Coach Spalding told me about the PWO, I told him I am going to be a Badger.” The running back also went on to state, “It was the easiest decision I have ever made.”
As a successful two-way player during his high school career, Bortolotti was asked about the potential of changing positions during his collegiate career. The running back and defensive back put together great seasons on both sides of the ball last year. However, the athlete stated, “I think I will definitely stay at running back.”

When the offer came through to Bortolotti, he felt the decision had to be made on the spot because of the certainty he held. Bortolotti was asked about his decision making process and stated, “I’ve wanted to be a Badger my whole life.”
Now, the running back will finally get his chance as he will join a very talented room of athletes following his final year at Whitefish Bay. With the opportunity to learn from both Coach Spalding and the room of running backs, Bortolotti can certainly develop into another stud for the Wisconsin football program.
Wisconsin Badgers Football Staff Aiming to Land Second PWO Commitment

With the commitment of Bortolotti in the books, the Wisconsin football staff still has a handful of preferred walk-on offers on the table. The Badgers have given out plenty of offers, but two of them in particular could be players that land in Madison.
Both Marion Moore and Nolan Anderson hold preferred walk-on offers as defensive backs for the Badgers. However, in the case of Moore, a recent scholarship offer from North Dakota State University could shift his recruitment. Moore holds a crystal ball prediction to land with NDSU, which will likely happen given the other offers he has.
For Anderson, the Wisconsin football staff offered a preferred walk-on position to the defensive back with the potential of earning a scholarship. Anderson recently switched positions, which has had a major positive impact on his recruitment. Wisconsin is still the best offer on the table, but Anderson may wait and see who else offers first.
