Breakdown: What Wisconsin Football Can Expect From ‘Violent’ Jahmare Washington

The Wisconsin football staff has landed another commitment in their 2025 class after adding cornerback Jahmare Washington.

Washington, a 6-foot-2-inch cornerback from Illinois, pack quite the punch for a defensive back. The cornerback has been a priority target for the Wisconsin Badgers and now will join the team following his commitment. Washington announced the news during his official visit in Madison this weekend.

The Wisconsin football staff has landed another 2025 commitment in the form of three-star cornerback Jahmare Washington. Washington held offers from Michigan State, Indiana, and Kansas State but ultimately booked a lone official visit with the Badgers. The cornerback announced his commitment while on campus with the staff.

Washington is quite the recruit due to his rare style of aggressive play as a cornerback. The recruit has been described as a ‘Violent’ player by recruiting analysts and plays high-energy football that the recruiting staff in Madison truly loves.

Washington Provides Physicality, Confidence to Loaded Secondary Room

There is certainly no doubt that Wisconsin currently has a loaded secondary room, which will only get bigger when more commitments and signees arrive on campus in the future. While the Badgers have plenty of athletes at the position, there is not another defensive back on the roster like Washington. Washington is known for playing fast-paced, aggressive football on the gridiron.

The defensive back is not afraid to take risks or leave his feet to try and make a big play for his team. The Wisconsin football staff has fallen in-love with both his ability and his style of play on the field. Between his huge frame and tenacity in his play, Washington certainly could be a player that impresses his way into the lineup quickly.

For the Wisconsin football staff the next priority target that is on the horizon is four-star guard Hardy Watts. Watts is the man the staff feels will round out their offensive line in the 2025 recruiting class, and the big man is currently on campus in Madison. The Badgers are pushing hard to land Watts and it would be difficult for the staff to see the recruit potentially commit to a different program.

The recruit is current the top-ranked player in the state of Massachusetts and holds the 217th national ranking.
