The future is bright for Wisconsin Badgers running back Braelon Allen. The 19-year-old prospect has been making waves in college football, and NFL teams have been taking notice. So much so, that scouts have reportedly compared Braelon to All-Pro RB Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans.
Henry is one of the best in the business and for Braelon to be compared to the Titans star is an undeniable honor for the young hopeful.
NFL Scouts See ‘Several’ Similarities in Braelon Allen and Derrick Henry

Ncaa Guaranteed Rate Bowl
According to a report by NFL Rookie Watch on Twitter, multiple NFL scouts see “several” similarities between Allen and Henry. In a previous interview, Braelon himself noted that he tries to model his game to the Titans RB as well as to Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants. Those are some lofty goals from this young man, but as they say, you might as well aim for the stars. Braelon does seem like he has what it takes to reach these heights, but he will obviously need to put a lot of work in to get there.
For what it’s worth Braelon currently stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 240 pounds. Derrick, on the other hand, is listed at 6-foot-3, 247 pounds.
One particular scout even went as far as saying that Braelon is a “legit” first-round talent. The Badgers RB is expected to enter the 2024 NFL Draft, and if these scouting reports are accurate then we can probably expect him to get plucked off the board in the opening round. It remains to be seen where he will end up taking his talents, but it seems that Braelon could make an immediate impact on whichever team drafts him.
Braelon’s Derrick Henry Comps Are Noteworthy

Derrick Henry is a three-time Pro Bowler and a one-time All-Pro running back. The former Alabama standout was named as the 2020 AP and PFWA Offensive Player of the Year. This man has some superstar credentials, and whenever his name is used as a comparison to a young prospect, you just know that the latter has some very promising potential in him. This is exactly what Braelon Allen looks to prove now that he’s well on his way to the NFL. Perhaps he gets to meet Derrick in the near future and they can exchange notes, with the Titans RB obviously providing more inputs in a potential learning experience for the Badgers youngster.
The good news for Braelon is that he has a full season ahead with the Wisconsin Badgers to try and up his stock. Big things are expected from him this season and he has an opportunity to show the world — and NFL scouts, of course — what he can bring to the table once he gets to the big leagues.
