The Wisconsin basketball team has endured quite the interesting season thus far, but March still remains a question for the Badgers.
Despite early losses to Providence, Tennessee, and Arizona, the Wisconsin Badgers have developed into one of the top teams in the country. Currently, the Badgers are projected to hold one of the top seedings in the 2024 March Madness Tournament. However, Wisconsin will need to battle before they get to that point.
Wisconsin Basketball Holds Two-Seed Following Surge to #13 Ranking
Wisconsin basketball has endured quite the interesting 2024 season thus far after losing tough battles against top schools early. The Badgers lost to Tennessee and Providence back-to-back after beating Arkansas State to open the season.
The Wisconsin basketball team did not let the losses affect them, however, as they won their next six games straight following the losses. In those six wins, Wisconsin took down the third-ranked Marquette Golden Eagles and the 24th-ranked Virginia Cavaliers.
The win streak for the Wisconsin Badgers ended against the top-ranked Arizona Wildcats, who were too much for the Badgers offensively. However after a recent surge from the Badgers, the team is currently expected to take a two-seed in March.
A Look Ahead: Where Could the Wisconsin Badgers Basketball Team Seed in March?
After starting another win streak since losing to Arizona, the Badgers have been one of the stronger teams in the country. Wisconsin suffered a tough loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions in a shocking upset, but have otherwise played exceptional basketball. The road ahead, however, is where it can be very tricky for the Wisconsin basketball team.
The Badgers must play #2 Purdue twice, Michigan, Michigan State, #10 Illinois, and Iowa before the conference tournament begins. Wisconsin has a tough road ahead of them, but if the Badgers can navigate through it, a two-seed in March seems realistic.
At this point in time, Wisconsin will need to focus on their major battle against #2 Purdue as they have been a dominant force.
The Road Ahead for the Wisconsin Basketball Team
With a tough road ahead for the Badgers, the Wisconsin basketball team will need to focus on playing there best ball. Teams like the Boilermakers and Fighting Illini will also be great tests for the Badgers as they begin to weigh themselves against potentially tough competition in March.
