During the recent advanced skills camp hosted by the Wisconsin Basketball staff, a certain IMG Academy student made an appearance and performed well.
Amari Allen, a 2025 four-star recruit, is one of the best small forwards in the 2025 recruiting class. Allen is originally from Kaukauna, Wisc., but transferred down to Bradenton, Fla., to continue his basketball career. The talented small forward played exceptionally well during the advanced skills camp and seemed to open the eyes of the Wisconsin Basketball staff.
Wisconsin Basketball Eyeing Top IMG Academy Talent In 2025 Recruiting Class
Amari Allen expects to take on a much larger role this upcoming season at IMG, with four-star Jamie Kaiser joining the Maryland Terrapins for the 2023 season. Coach Greg Gard also recruited Kaiser and his teammate Blue Cain early on but eventually lost contact with each recruit. In the case of Allen, Gard is much closer to the recruit geographically as he spends his summers in Wisconsin.
The 6-foot-7-inch, 180-pound small forward flew across the court this past week as he made plays on both ends. Allen uses his length to slam down dunks as he drives through the lane. He also can make incredible blocks on the defensive side of the ball due to his long wingspan. Amri Allen is also a consistent shooter from the field and put his shooting on display during the camp.
The Wisconsin Basketball staff walked away from the camp impressed with many of the recruits they invited. In the case of Allen, Gard and his staff got a close look at the recruit for the first time since he had joined IMG Academy.
Why Amari Allen Makes Sense For the Wisconsin Badgers Basketball Team
In the case of the Wisconsin Basketball team, versatility is something the staff is looking for eagerly. Gard wants to add dynamic, versatile players to the team that can allow the Badgers to score and defend in multiple fashions. Allen can do just that for the Badgers, given his size and skill set. The talented small forward is a versatile athlete who can attack the basket with multiple different approaches. Allen is also a great distributor, along with being an excellent finisher.
Coach Greg Gard believes that Amari Allen can provide a layer of athleticism that the team needs. If Wisconsin Basketball landed Allen, it would be a huge win for the program. Allen currently holds offers from Arizona State, Iowa, Florida State, and Indiana, among others.

Regarding your recent article on Tre Poteat, the 4-star cornerback from Verona High School: There was no mention that his father, Hank, was not retained by Luke Fickell and that Hank is now on the staff of Iowa State. Shouldn’t that situation have been mentioned as Iowa State would now be in the mix of Tre’s services?
NOTE: I do receive multiple emails on Wisconsin athletics. So, if I have mistakenly credited your company with that article and it wasn’t you, I am sorry for the confusion.
