The Wisconsin Badgers are two games into the 2023 college football season. Last week, the Badgers lost to the Washington State Cougars by a score of 31-22 on the road. They scored 16 straight points in the second half despite falling short.
With the Badgers having a new coach in Luke Fickell, it has brought a change in culture, and many new transfer portal athletes to the team. One third-year wide receiver has now entered the transfer portal for a second time after two weeks into his junior season with the Wisconsin Badgers.

Keontez Lewis has not seen much time on the field in the last two seasons. Now, the veteran wide receiver has chosen to leave another University in less than two full years.
Keontez Lewis College Stats
As a freshman at UCLA, Keontez Lewis did not play a snap. He transferred after the 2021 season to the Wisconsin Badgers. Last season, Lewis ranked third on the team in receiving with 313 yards, and three touchdowns as a sophomore.
In two games this season, the third-year wideout played some in their season opener against Buffalo, catching one pass for 12 yards. Lewis will have two years left of eligibility after transferring to another school for a second time.
Badgers Offense So Far In 2023
The Badgers have a few wide receivers that can make plays already on the current roster. Senior Chimere Dike, Bryson Green, and CJ Williams seem to be the top targets for the Badgers offense heading into Week 3. Those three wide receivers are upperclassmen, just like Keontez Lewis.
Maybe the third-year wide receiver did not see anything coming as a chance to be on the field with the transfers brought in before this 2023 campaign. Through two games, sophomore Will Pauling is the leading wide receiver with 10 receptions for 133 yards. Senior running back Chez Mellusi leads in carries, and rushing yards with 25 carries for 205 yards.
The offense will be looking to dominate Georgia Southern with the rushing attack and the passing game. Most fans think it will be a win. It should happen with having better ball security, and fewer miscues or turnovers at home this week.
Wisconsin needs to get back on the winning track in Week 3. The Wisconsin Badgers will face Georgia Southern at Camp Randall Stadium. The game is set to kick off at noon on the Big Ten Network!
