The Wisconsin Badgers are going to be on the lookout for a new quarterback as Tanner Mordecai will no longer be eligible, and Braedyn Locke might not be the answer as of now. That’s where the transfer portal comes in, and Cameron Ward, a QB out of Washington State, decided to enter it on Friday.

Wisconsin Badgers Named by On3’s Pete Nakos as a Team to Watch
The Wisconsin Badgers have plenty of intrigue under head coach Luke Fickell as the team faces turnover after losing Chimere Dike to the transfer portal, along with Skyler Bell, ensuring the Badgers will be active, especially on offense.

On3’s Pete Nakos floated that the Wisconsin Badgers are a team to watch for Cameron Ward. He also lists Ohio State, USC, Oregon, Washington, Miami, and Florida State in the report as well. In his report, Nakos mentions that the Badgers have been in talks with Cameron Ward since Friday.

Unfortunately for the Badgers, they’ll have a tall task of luring Ward away from other powerhouse teams, especially in terms of NIL potential for him.
Cameron Ward and the Fit for the Wisconsin Badgers
The Wisconsin Badgers and Luke Fickell will look to continue their switch to the air raid offense, and Cameron Ward could fit right into that plan, especially with a reloaded wide receiving corps.

This past season, Ward put up 3736 passing yards, which put him at number five in the entire nation for quarterbacks. He also had 25 passing touchdowns that placed him as number 25 in the nation. With his 311.33 yards per game, he is fourth in the nation and would be a great fit for a team that’s looking to instill a new type of offense.
In 25 games over the past two years, he recorded 6968 passing yards, and 48 touchdowns. This includes two wins over the Wisconsin Badgers in that time period.
No matter the outcome of Cameron Ward, there are plenty of potential quarterback options in the transfer portal as Luke Fickell looks to reshape an offense that struggled to put points on the board this season.
