The Wisconsin Badgers volleyball program continues its impressive recruiting streak with the addition of Addy Horner to the 2025 class. Horner hails from Wheaton, Illinois, where she plays volleyball with St. Francis High School. The 6-foot-3 setter announced her commitment to the Badgers on Sunday morning, solidifying Wisconsin’s strong start in the recruiting season.
I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Wisconsin. I want to thank all my coaches, teammates, family and friends that have helped me along the way. Go badgers!! pic.twitter.com/pWPeatVp4T

A Rising Star Follows Former Stars to Wisconsin Badgers Volleyball
Horner is coming out of St. Francis High School, which is the same school that produced former Badger standout Molly Haggerty. She also plays club volleyball for 1st Alliance Volleyball. The 1st Alliance Volleyball club is a renowned club team that has previously produced talented players like Dana Rettke and Lauren Barnes that were also Badger standouts.
Her commitment to the Wisconsin Badgers marks the program’s third high-profile recruit in the opening weekend of the commitment season. Joining Madison Quest, a 6-foot-3 outside hitter from Pewaukee, and Natalie Wardlow, a 6-foot-5 middle blocker from Lincoln, Nebraska, Horner adds to the Wisconsin Badgers’ already impressive recruiting class. PrepDig ranks Wardlow, Horner, and Quest among the top 20 recruits in the nation.
Talent First Recruitment for Badgers
While Horner’s talent is undeniable, her exact role on the team is yet to be determined. She has showcased her versatility by playing both setter and right side for her high school team and club team. As a six-rotation player, she demonstrates her ability to set when positioned in the back row and attack when in the front.
During this past season, Horner shined across the 99 sets she played as a Sophomore. She tallied 321 kills, 65 blocks, with 595 assists.
The Badgers have already secured the top setter in the 2024 recruiting class with Charlie Fuerbringer, hailing from Hermosa Beach, California. However, Horner’s addition adds depth and flexibility to the team’s future roster that is going to be graduating plenty of upperclassmen.
Quick Recruitment Led to Wisconsin Badgers Volleyball Commit
Once the ability to talk with recruits from the 2025 class, the Badgers’ Head Coach Kelly Sheffield wasted little time in contacting the three recruits he has landed in that time. Horner has mentioned that she had conversations with other schools including Auburn, Maryland, Colorado, Missouri, Arkansas, Indiana and Pepperdine. Still, she ended up choosing to only speak with the Badgers on Friday and ultimately chose to give her commitment for 2025.
The addition of Addy Horner to the Wisconsin volleyball program is yet another testament to the team’s commitment to excellence and its ability to attract top-tier talent. As the 2025 season approaches, anticipation builds for the Badgers’ formidable roster and the contributions Horner will make on the court. With a promising group of recruits, Wisconsin aims to continue its winning tradition and compete at the highest level in the NCAA.
