The Wisconsin Badgers defense was able to hold Rutgers to 14 points in their game to be the only team in the Big Ten West to be undefeated in conference play. Ricardo Hallman was at the center of it, with a pick 6 that was returned for a touchdown. The impressive part? It was a 95-yard return.

The Pick 6 Play
Rutgers was trailing 10-0, closing in at the end of the first half. It was second and goal, with the ball at the 6-yard line, and Rutgers was looking to battle back heading into the half. That’s where Hallman stepped in.
Gavin Wimsatt aimed for Christian Dremel, but Hallamn was there to intercept. He then outran Dremel right into the end zone, giving the Wisconsin Badgers a comfortable 17-0 lead heading into the half.
Ricardo Hallman for the Wisconsin Badgers
Ricardo Hallman is a redshirt sophomore for the Badgers, and he’s making the most of this season. The cornerback has registered four interceptions this season, including two against Purdue and one this week, which he returned for a touchdown. Those four interceptions are the most by a Wisconsin Badger since 2016, and we still have plenty of seasons left for him to add on.
He has 16 tackles on the season and registered two more against Rutgers to help the Badgers become the only team in the Big Ten West to remain undefeated in conference play. It’s possible that the Badgers might have their second-best defender behind safety Hunter Wohler.
