The Wisconsin Badgers were unable to end their 2023 season with a bowl game win over the LSU Tigers on Monday. Unfortunately, they ended up losing by a final score of 35-31.

While the game did not end in the Badgers’ favor, they have to be happy with the season that they put together. They came up short of their goals, but there is no question that the program is headed in the right direction.

That is a sentiment echoed by Badgers’ senior quarterback Tanner Mordecai.

During a press conference after the team’s loss to LSU, Mordecai was not shy in talking about Wisconsin’s future. He believes that the program is headed in the right direction. Mordecai also made it clear that he is very much in support of his head coach.

“I know a lot of people on social media like to drag coach Fick’s name. This program is in good hands, I’ll be watching, they’ll be competing for National Championships very soon. The sky is the limit.”

Mordecai finished the 2023 season with solid all-around numbers. He completed 65 percent of his pass attempts for 2,065 yards, nine touchdowns, and four interceptions.

It will be interesting to see what the 2024 college football season has in store for the Wisconsin Badgers. They have the pieces in place to be a treat in the Big Ten. Mordecai and the rest of the players are strong believes that they are on the right path to competing with the power schools across the nation.

Assuming the Badgers can put together another great recruiting class and add a few pieces from the transfer portal, there is absolutely nothing stopping them from taking a big leap forward next season.
