The Wisconsin Badgers and Luke Fickell are making sure that 2024 is a more successful season than 2023. The program landed a huge piece from the transfer portal on Friday. Former Northern Iowa and FCS All-American linebacker Jahsiah Galvan announced he has committed to the Badgers.

Wisconsin Badgers Land LB Jahsiah Galvan From The Transfer Portal
Galvan had a great season as a redshirt freshman. He led the team in tackles with 77 and also added on 5.5 tackles for loss, four pass breakups, a forced fumble, and an interception. He was named to Phil Steele’s freshman first-team All-American squad. This is huge for the Badgers as they were looking very thin at the linebacker position. Galvan seems very excited about his potential fit.
“I definitely think there’s a really good opportunity to come in and be successful. It’s really just going to be up to how quickly I’m able to adjust to playing that inside backer spot, how quickly I’m able to come in and learn the defense and feel confident playing in coach Tressel’s style of defense. If I’m able to do those things and they feel confident in me, then I think the opportunity is certainly there.”
Some Work Left To Do
According to On3, the Badgers have the 35th-ranked transfer portal class in the nation. While this isn’t horrible, the Badgers would like to be a little higher I assume. However, having a top 40 class whether it is a transfer portal or recruiting is nothing to sneeze at. The real question is whether all of this talent can win on the field. Last offseason saw a lot of hype around the team but the squad struggled a lot. 2024 will have some pressure to perform better.
The Wisconsin Badgers have to be excited about landing Jahsiah Galvan. They needed to get some experience at linebacker and they got one of the best out of the portal.
