Wisconsin Badgers Invite 2025 Recruit, NFL Hall Of Fame Dad To Campus

This past Thursday, the Wisconsin Badgers football team played hosts for two exclusive guests. 2025 recruit Landon Pace and his NFL Hall of Fame father, Orlando Pace, were in the building for Spring practice and got the chance to meet with the staff as well. The Badgers are eager to land a commitment from Pace as the Ohio State Buckeyes, his father’s Alma Mater, continue to gain ground.

The Wisconsin Badgers have been busy working the team out and deciding what role each player will have. While the Spring practices have been great for this, they have also been great for recruiting visits as many recruits want to see the new staff in action. The football team is looking better than ever as the recruiting networks continue to develop.

One such recruit that wanted a first hand look at the staff is 2025 three-star tight end Landon Pace. Landon is the son of former NFL offensive tackle and Hall of Fame inductee Orlando Pace, who had an incredible playing career for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Orlando Pace finished fourth in voting for the 1996 Heisman Trophy, which is the second highest finish by a lineman for the trophy.

Landon Pace did not get quite the same physical tools as his father, and instead was given incredible hands. In his sophomore year highlight reel on Hudl, Pace displays his catching ability as he comes back to make multiple impressive grabs. Pace has plenty of range and length at six foot three inches, which also makes him a difficult player to defend. The talented receiver also excels at creating separation between himself and the defender when going up for catches.

One of the things that Pace does the best as a recruit is commit himself to each play. As a tight end and an outside linebacker, Pace is responsible for playing incredibly physical positions. Pace commits himself to each play and goes until the whistle every chance he gets. Whether he is blocking and looking for the next play or rushing into the open space, Pace finishes his plays. He is also a respected blocker in the run game, which seems fitting considering who his father is.

Currently, Pace sits at the sixth spot in the 2025 football recruiting rankings for the state of Missouri. Pace is also ranked ninth overall in his class as a tight end, but has been listed as an athlete on 247 Sports. According to Rivals, Pace currently has six scholarship offers with Ohio State taking a lead in the recruiting chase. In-state Missouri Tigers offered Pace a scholarship and hosted him for a visit, but it seems unlikely he will land with the Tigers.

Pace has already visited Ohio State three times, with more visits likely to come soon as the tight end makes his trips. The Wisconsin Badgers are the first program Pace has visited since the end of his football season, which means his next round of visits is underway. Wisconsin is a little behind in the battle for Pace because of the weight that the Buckeyes offer carries sentimentally for the recruit. The Badgers will have quite the challenge ahead of them if they hope to land the talented tight end.
