The Wisconsin Badgers coaching staff has been shaken up in the last couple of weeks. After Notre Dame fired wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey, they hired Mike Brown from the Badgers for the same position. It didn’t take long for Luke Fickell to fill the position. It has been reported that former Arkansas offensive coordinator Kenny Guiton has been hired as the new wide receivers coach.
Wisconsin Badgers Hire Kenny Guiton
Badgers fans may remember playing against Guiton. He is a former Ohio State quarterback who from 2009 to 2013 appeared in 22 games while throwing for 893 yards and 16 touchdowns. This is why Fickell was so familiar with Guiton. Fickell was the defensive coordinator for Guiton’s first two years and then was the interim head coach for his final years. While the familiarity helps, Guiton has earned a spot on a coaching staff.
One Of The Best Young Coaches
247 named him one of the best young coaches in college football when he was at Colorado State. He has bounced around the college football world with stops at Houston, Louisiana, Colorado State, and most recently Arkansas. In his coaching tenure, he has shown that he can coach wide receivers. He has helped a handful of receivers earn all-conference honors and reach the NFL. The Badgers’ offense is still a work in progress and Guiton should help the development of the receivers.
Can the Wisconsin Badgers bounce back in 2024? The Big Ten is set to get bigger which means it will be more difficult to win the conference. Still, the Badgers have a great coaching staff and high-quality players. They now need to show that can produce wins on the field.
