The Green Bay Packers have one of the best 1-2 punches in the NFL in Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. They have made an effort the past 2 seasons by drafting running backs, AJ Dillon in 2020 and Kylin Hill in 2021. Hill is coming off an ACL surgery from a nasty hit and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if the Packers took a running back late in the draft to compete with Hill for that 3rd running back spot.

Strengths: Extremely productive college player. Really strong thick running back that can run through defenders. An absolute nightmare for second-level defenders to bring down. A very patient runner that can explode through a hole
Weaknesses: Not very agile, not going to make you miss often, and be able to make multiple people miss. Lots of carries at the college level which might be a concern at the NFL level if they start to catch up to him. Does Not have top-end speed and can be caught from behind.
Round 2-3 Kenneth Walker Michigan State 5’9” 211 RAS 9.26 View Highlights
2021 stats 263 carries, 1638 yards, 18 touchdowns, 13 receptions, 89 yards, 1 touchdown
Strengths: Physical mean style of running, doesn’t like to run out of bounds. Consistently falls forward and finishes runs. Really good cut-back runner that would excel in a zone system. Really good balance and pad height.
Weaknesses: doesn’t have a lot of production in the receiving game. Looks uncomfortable at times when asked to catch passes out of the backfield. Doesn’t give you what you would like in pass blocking.
Round 2-3 James Cook Georgia 5’11” 199 RAS 8.77 View Highlights
2021 stats 113 carries, 738 yards, 7 touchdowns, 27 receptions 284 yards, 4 touchdowns
Strengths: Explosive playmaker especially in the passing game. Looks natural when catching the ball and continues his route through the catch process. A very agile runner with the ability to make tackers miss with good straight-line speed.
Weaknesses: smaller size back who doesn’t project as a 3 down player. Will split carries at the next level. Lacks the ideal strength to run between tackles. Does Not pass protect exceptionally well due to size.
Round 4-7 Dameon Pierce Florida 5’10” 218 RAS 7.12 View Highlights
2021 stats 100 carries, 574 yards, 12 touchdowns, 19 receptions, 216 yards, 3 touchdowns
Strengths: well built with a really good pad height on runs. Is able to run through arm tackles and lighter players. Decisive 1 cut runner who would excel in a zone-read scheme. Consistently falls forward and does an exceptional job of taking care of the ball.
Weaknesses: Does Not have great straight-line speed and will be caught from behind at the next level. Isn’t a side-to-side mover and will not make defenders miss with agility. Power or nothing.
Round 4-7 Pierre Strong Jr South Dakota State 5’11” RAS 9.34 View Highlights
2021 stats 240 carries, 1,686 yards, 18 touchdowns, 22 receptions, 150 yards
Strengths: smooth mover that can make you miss and run through you. Tied for the fastest 40 of running backs with really good quickness. Has a lot of ability in the passing game.
Weaknesses: ball security is not where it needs to be. Does Not consistently run with the same pad level and can occasionally get stopped. Will get tackled by arm tackles at his ankles.
Round 4-7 Zonovan Knight North Carolina St 5’11” 209 RAS 5.83 View Highlights
2021 stats 140 carries, 753 yards, 3 touchdowns, 21 receptions, 156 yards
Strengths: patient back that can make himself small behind the line of scrimmage. Good eyes that work fast to find the hole, very patient back. Comfortable catching the football.
Weaknesses: Average athlete with low RAS. isn’t a good route runner. 3 fumbles this year alone.
