How the Green Bay Packers could utilize Kylin Hill like Deebo Samuel

Kylin Hill and Deebo Samuel are not two names you would ever imagine comparing.  However their attributes are so similar that it makes one wonder what Hill could bring to Green Bay’s offense.  Again, we acknowledge that Deebo Samuel is a possible top 5 wide receiver in the NFL, and Kylin Hill is a third string running back.  However what they can bring to an offense could be very similar.

How they compare to each other:

    • 40 Yard Dash:
      • Kylin Hill: 4.51
      • Deebo Samuel: 4.48
    • Height:
      • Kylin Hill: 5′ 10″
      • Deebo Samuel: 6′ 0″
    • Weight:
      • Kylin Hill: 214 pounds
      • Deebo Samuel: 216 pounds

Physical attributes are just one aspect of the game however.  Deebo Samuel has become such an incredible weapon in the game because of his ability to play running back and wide receiver.  His ability to line up in the backfield, in the slot, or on the perimeter and make an impact on the play.  Kylin Hill has similar abilities that Green Bay could exploit.

In four years as Mississippi State Kylin Hill rushed 452 times for 2,535 yards and 16 touchdowns.  He averaged 5.6 yards per rush.  In college he also accumulated 67 receptions, 631 yards, and 6 touchdowns.  He averaged 9.4 yards per reception.  His ability in the open field, however, is what could make him a weapon in the passing game in the NFL:

If health isn’t a concern, using Hill in mixed packages could be an added weapon to an offense that finds itself looking for weapons.  Here are a few examples of how Deebo Samuel is used that Green Bay could do with Kylin Hill:
