Packers odds of winning the Super Bowl Go Down After NFL Week 7
The Green Bay Packers exit NFL Week 7 with a 3-4 record. The Packers are in serious jeopardy of being 3-5 after next Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills. The team failed to take advantage of what was thought to be the easiest part of the schedule. Sportsbooks are now taking notice of Green Bay’s struggles, which are reflected in the Packers odds.
Before the season, the Packers were one of the favorites to win the NFC North Division and the Super Bowl. According to Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated, on Aug. 4th this year, the Packers had +1200 odds of winning the Super Bowl. After NFL Week 7, they were -155 to win the division. Sports Illustrated used FanDuel as their sportsbook for the odds.
The mighty has since fallen. Three straight losses for the Packers are making analysts wonder if the Packers are a wild-card team. The updated odds are not good for the Packers. According to FanDuel, as of Monday, the Packers odds are +3300 to win the Super Bowl this season. They are also +490 to win the NFC North following NFL Week 7.
The Packers are running out of time
There’s still time for the Packers to turn around their season. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said that the team could turn the season around after the NFL Week 7 loss.
“I’m not worried about this squad,” Rodgers said in his post-game interview. “In fact, this might be the best thing for us this week. Nobody’s going to give us a chance, going to Buffalo, Sunday Night Football, with a chance to get exposed.”
The Packers could certainly use an upset over the Bills to jumpstart their season. The Packers will face serious challenges yet in their schedule. They’ll have to find ways to beat some teams like the Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, and the Los Angeles Rams. It’s daunting, especially after the brutal NFL Week 7 loss. However, we’ve seen Rodgers and the Packers get on a mean streak.
