The Milwaukee Bucks could find themselves in a deep, deep hole on Sunday. They battle the Indiana Pacers at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Game 4, and without both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard available, there’s no denying that Milwaukee will be at a major disadvantage.
A loss on Sunday would mean that the Bucks will be down 1-3 in the series, which could prove to be an insurmountable deficit for a hobbling Milwaukee side.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Giannis Antetokounmpo Could Return for Game 5
Obviously, the Bucks will want to re-take home-court advantage by securing a much-needed win in Game 4. However, a loss might not be the end of the world for them, especially with Antetokounmpo getting close to returning.
Bucks head coach revealed on Sunday that Giannis looked great during a “hard workout” in the morning. The former back-to-back MVP isn’t healthy enough to suit up for Game 4, but it does seem like he’s making significant progress:
“It went well,” Rivers said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “He moved. He shot. He’s running now with no resistance, so those are all very good signs.”
Coach Doc refused to provide a timetable on Antetokounmpo’s potential return to action, but the tenured coach hinted at the possibility of the Bucks talisman suiting up for Game 5 on Tuesday:
“Optimistic, more. I think there’s a chance for him to play in this series. I really do,” Rivers said.
Game 5 could very well be the final game of this series, and it goes without saying that the Bucks will need their superstar (both of them) back for that one.
