Earlier this morning, it was reported that the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers had agreed to a new contract. To celebrate the occasion, the Packers posted the following video on social media.

The Amazing History Made and in the Making

The contract Aaron Rodgers signed with the Packers is truly an historic one. For starters, he becomes the first player in NFL history to make $50 million per year. Secondly, the duration of the contract, which goes through the 2024/25 season, will ensure that Rodgers has the opportunity to finish a 20-year career with the same team. No other quarterback has played for one team for that long.

When the Green Bay Packers drafted Jordan Love in 2020, Rodgers stated that he had always thought he would play his entire career with the Green Bay Packers. Then, he was not so sure. However, he responded by winning back-to-back MVP’s and signing a deal that will ensure he has the opportunity to do just that: end his career with the team that drafted him.
