Only Two Packers make ESPN’s Top 100 list
The Green Bay Packers had a disappointing season in 2022. Only two Packers made ESPN’s list of the 100 most valuable players of the 2022 season. The results were surprising, especially for a team that wants to sign many of the same players on the roster in free agency after a losing regular season record.
In a trade last offseason, the Packers lost one of their best players, Davante Adams. The Packers had several rookies on offense and defense this season. They never could perform to preseason expectations. However, a couple of players still had great individual seasons.
Where’s number 12?
ESPN ranked 100 of the most valuable players in 2022. Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander made the list at 52. Left tackle David Bakhtiari was listed at 95. Those two Packers make sense. Alexander was dominant in several games in the Packers’ backfield this season. He shut down Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson in Week 17. Bakhtiari was the Packers’ best offensive linemen when he was healthy enough to play.
One interesting note about the list, quarterback Aaron Rodgers was left off. However, another NFC North quarterback made it. Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields. Packers fans will have to ask themselves: how does that one work?
