When advice is offered by a hall-of-famer, you take out your notepad. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance intends to do just that. Trey Lance has been speaking with Hall of Fame Quarterback Steve Young this offseason a good amount. It will certainly pay off more than speaking with former 49ers QB Jim Druckenmiller. Or Jimmy Garoppalo for that matter. Lance is going to need all of the information, data, and pats on the back possible as he becomes the new leader of the 49ers.
Trey Lance said he talked with Steve Young a “decent amount” this offseason and values any advice from the 49ers legend:

Trey Lance seems to be a sponge, soaking up as much knowledge as he possibly can. Steve Young conveyed to Lance that he had 100% confidence in his abilities. The 49ers have been looking to move Jimmy Garoppalo this offseason, with Lance being the emerging talent to take the helm of the offense. A trade suitor hasn’t appeared yet for San Francisco.
Lance is poised to emerge this season as he received more playing time. With Deebo Samuel trying to force his way out, that could be detrimental to Lance’s development. Although with Steve Young in his corner, I believe Lance will do just fine.
