The Green Bay Packers could not do enough to get the win over the New York Giants in London, falling 27-22. At one point, they were up 20-10 and looked to be in control of the game. Unfortunately, the defense allowed far too many big plays and the Giants shutout the offense in the second half. It was truly a tale of two halves, and not a good story for the Packers.
Three Studs
Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers struggled throwing deep, but was still methodical in the short game. If Matt LaFleur can convince him to lay off throwing deep, this offense could drain defenses like none they’ve ever had. Unfortunately, that did not happen in this game. Rodgers finished with a respectable line of 25/39 for 222 yards and two touchdowns.

Randall Cobb
“It’s Randall Cobb again!” What a throwback performance by the veteran wide receiver! Cobb was able to pick up first downs, catch short and low passes, and even had a few deep throws down the middle that he hauled in. It was truly a vintage game for him, and one that should give Packers fans confidence that he can continue to be a contributing member of the offense going forward. Cobb finished with seven receptions for 99 yards.

Preston Smith
The defense did not have many bright spots today as Daniel Jones was able to pick them apart with practice squad wide receivers. Preston Smith, though, had a great individual day. He finished the day with four tackles, a sack, and three quarterback hits.

Three Duds
Darnell Savage
Despite putting up good numbers in coverage through four weeks, Darnell Savage had a very rough day in London. It seemed that every time the Giants had a big passing play, Savage was the defensive back in coverage. With the Giants down to their bottom three wide receivers and a practice squad player, there is absolutely no excuse for the fourth-year safety. He has to be better than this.
Amari Rodgers
One has to wonder what the plan will be going forward for Amari Rodgers. He has barely seen the field at all on offense. Additionally, he has been underwhelming as a kick and punt returner. In fact, the Packers put Christian Watson out on the field to return kicks in this game. When Rodgers got a chance to return punts, he fumbled the second punt he received. Aaron Rodgers has not been very complimentary of the second-year wide receiver, and we have to wonder if he will even be on the team next season.

Third Down Defense
The Green Bay Packers entered the game against the Giants with one of the best third down defenses in the NFL. One would not have guessed that today, as the Packers consistently allowed the Giants to gain first downs on all kinds of third down distances. Whether through passes, short runs, long runs, quarterback draws, or penalties, the Packers defense could not figure out how to stop the Giants on the majority of third down plays. This has to be better going forward.
Bonus Dud: Rasul Douglas
Was there any player flagged more in this game than Rasul Douglas? Aside from poor coverage, he had an inexcusable unnecessary roughness penalty late in the fourth quarter that helped the Giants score a touchdown.
