Social Media Goes Off on Packers Punt Returner Amari Rodgers after Fumble in London

The Green Bay Packers are in the midst of their first ever international game. A surprising revelation on the game’s opening kick off was that rookie Christian Watson was the Packers’ kick returner. That role had belonged to Amari Rodgers up until Week Five. Rodgers, though, remained the Packers’ punt returner. One has to wonder how long he will that job, too. After fair catching the first Giants’ punt, he got the chance to return the second one. He fumbled it, adding to fans’ on-going frustration with the second-year wide receiver. Luckily, the Packers recovered the fumble; but fans took to social media to voice their frustration with Amari Rodgers:

That might be the last time we see Amari Rodgers…for awhile.

Amari Rodgers is no longer the KR. By definition he only has one job… it's just not working.

    — Andy Herman (@AndyHermanNFL) October 9, 2022

Amari Rodgers loses the fumble on the punt return. Josiah Deguara caught it, but he got stripped, too. Isaiah McDuffie recovered. Might be time for a change at punt returner, as well.

Alright I’ve seen enough of the Amari Rodgers project. Let’s see some other returners.

    — Titletown Chatter (@TitletownChat) October 9, 2022

I'm all about patience and whatnot but that should be Amari Rodgers' last return. I don't see a place for him on this team.

The Amari Rodgers experience has been fun (has it?), but I think it's time to move on.

    — Aaron Rawrdgers (@ARdoppelganger) October 9, 2022

I’ve seen enough of Amari Rodgers returning punts.

The fans have all made good points. What exactly is Amari Rodgers’ future with the Packers if he cannot even return punts? It will be interesting to see how the Packers handle him going forward.
