We have done a great deal of coverage on the phenomenal athletes that have signed their National Letters of Intent (NLI) with the Wisconsin Badgers. We would be remiss, though, if we did not highlight the first signee of period: Christian Alliegro. A three-star linebacker from Darien High School in Connecticut, Alliegro also played a post-grad season at Avon Old Farms. He is regarded as the 85th best linebacker prospect in the country, and seventh best linebacker in Connecticut.

An outside linebacker, Alliegro has signed on despite outside linebackers coach Bobby April III leaving Wisconsin to become the defensive coordinator at Stanford. Alliegro will look to continue a recent trend of successful Wisconsin Badgers linebackers that includes the 2021 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, TJ Watt. Nick Herbig recently announced his intentions to enter the NFL Draft, leaving the linebacker position open for a new playmaker.
Christian Alliegro Positions and Highlights
Like many high school players, Alliegro played multiple positions. In addition to linebacker, he played strong safety and tight end. His senior season highlights can be viewed in this Tweet that he posted at the end of November:

Other Schools That Were Interested in Christian Alliegro
In addition to Wisconsin, Alliegro was recruited by several other colleges and universities. According to 247 Sports, he had received interest from:
- Wisconsin
- Minnesota
- Wake Forest
- Connecticut
- Fordham
Per Rivals, though, he received offers and interest from many other schools. Their list of schools that recruited and offered to Alliegro include:
- Wake Forest
- Rutgers
- Vanderbilt
- Nebraska
- South Carolina State
- Mississippi
- Minnesota
- Maryland
- Louisville
- Connecticut
- Wisconsin
Rivals also listed Iowa as a school that recruited Alliegro, but they did not make an offer to him.
