Aaron Rodgers’ career seems to have more questions lately than answers. When he signed his 3 year, $150M extension in March, the contract didn’t exactly read that way. Rodgers has a cap hit of approximately $28M this year, and $31M next year. This suggests that after the 2023-24 season, he would need to restructure or retire. That is because his cap hit sky rockets to over $40M in 2024. However none of this may matter after Aaron Rodgers’ comments today.
Aaron Rodgers Comparing Himself To Jordan Love:
Looking back, the transition from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers went pretty smoothly. At the time, however, it seemed drama-filled and full of controversy. Brett Favre joining the Vikings one year after leaving Green Bay didn’t help things either… The transition from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love may be a little less drama-filled. Today Rodgers had this to say about himself and Jordan Love:
Aaron Rodgers on Jordan Love: “The tracks are looking more similar by the day, him being in his third year and me waiting behind Brett for three years.”
Rodgers went into detail about Jordan Love’s time in the league so far. His full answer here:
Really enjoyed this question asked today by @MikeClemensNFL to #Packers QB Aaron Rodgers:
“Friday night Jordan Love will be in the spotlight. Has he gone through as much ridicule or criticism or doubt that you did from 2005 to 2008?”

This Comment Could Be Telling:
We all know Aaron Rodgers love to be cryptic in his answers. He loves messing with the media as much as the next superstar. Either way this answer could suggest the end of his career. Aaron Rodgers was handed the keys after three years of sitting behind Brett Favre. After this season, it will be three years for Jordan Love behind Rodgers. If the organization follows the same path, that would mean this is the last year Rodgers will suit up for the Packers.
Is Jordan Love ready? That will be the question asked all year. Jordan Love will start the Packers pre-season opener vs the San Francisco 49ers. He will likely start all pre-season games, and his play will be put under a magnifying glass. Huge implications all pre-season long for the future of the Packers’ organization.
