Another Packers veteran wide receiver is hurt
If there is one constant to the Green Bay Packers this season, it’s that their wide receiver rotation will be different from week to week. The Packers need pass catchers to stay healthy. The Packers were already down a couple of wide receivers in their Week 7 game against the Washington Commanders. Another Packers veteran wide receiver was injured against the Commanders.
The injuries are taking a toll on the Packers. A preseason Super Bowl favorite is now a long shot at winning the NFC North. The offense struggles to move the ball either in the air or on the ground. Injuries on the offensive line aren’t helping. The Packers did get a small bump in Week 7, as Sammy Watkins was able to play. However, he seemed to work his way back into the rotation slowly and finished with just two receptions for 36 yards.
Allen Lazard is in a sling
Allen Lazard, needed as a staple to the Packers’ offense, went down against the Commanders. According to a statement by the Packers, he sustained a shoulder injury during the game. Even with Lazard leaving the game early, he led the Packers in receiving yards in Week 7. Lazard, who missed Week 1, leads the Packers in receiving yards and touchdowns this season. His loss would be another blow to quarterback Aaron Rodgers who’s having a hard time keeping his frustrations down with drops this season.
It’s unclear how long Lazard will be out. However, reports coming out Monday are not promising for Lazard. According to Matt Schneidman with The Athletic, Lazard had his arm in a sling Monday.
According to Kassidy Hill with Packers News, Lazard wasn’t in a chipper mood either.
Allen Lazard just walked through the locker room (didn’t stop to talk) and had this left arm in a sling.
He left yesterday’s game with a shoulder injury. In the locker room last night, he had it wrapped in ice.

Head coach Matt LaFleur didn’t add much more details to Lazard’s future status other than confirming the injury during his Monday press conference. The 3-4 Packers will need something to change on the offense to make a run for the playoffs. It’ll be interesting to see if the Packers are buyers before Tuesday’s trade deadline.
