The Green Bay Packers are going to have some tough decisions to make this off-season. With the way the 2022 NFL season has gone so far, it seems like nothing is off the table. There are people who will tell you a Rodgers trade doesn’t make sense for various reasons. However, given what we’ve seen over the last few weeks, Aaron Rodgers, the organization, or both could decide it is time to move on. Colin Cowherd predicted a trade in 2023 that would shift the landscape of the NFL.

Aaron Rodgers To Seattle Seahawks?
I am going to name a team. They just nailed the draft, and they have a ton of draft picks next year. The Seattle Seahawks literally don’t have to pay their tackles or Kenneth Walker for four more years. The Seahawks don’t have to pay their top corner for four more years. Or their edge rusher. If Seattle has a good draft, they can afford Aaron Rodgers’ cap hit.
Aaron Rodgers…to the Seahawks?

This type of trade would change the landscape of the NFL. Would Seattle really be interested in selling the farm for another veteran QB? They just off-loaded Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos this past off-season. That would be the biggest question in my opinion. Seattle is, however, financially in a position to take on this type of trade.
There would certainly have to be some salary cap hoops to jump through with Aaron Rodgers’ contract, but more than doable. If this trade happened before June 1st, 2023, the Packers would have a $40M cap hit in 2023. However, if it happened after June 1st, 2023, they would have a $15M cap hit in 2023 and a $24M cap hit in 2024. A trade like this could set Green Bay up for the next phase of their franchise while giving Seattle a chance to win now. Green Bay currently sits at 4-7 eleven weeks into the 2022 NFL season. If their season ends just as rough as it has begun, a trade could be imminent
So what would a trade like this have to look like? This is my proposed deal for both sides:
Seattle Seahawks Receive:
- QB Aaron Rodgers
Green Bay Packers Receive:
- 2023 First-Round Draft Pick
- 2023 Third-Round Draft Pick
- 2024 First-Round Draft Pick
- 2024 Third-Round Draft Pick
