The Packers absolutely destroyed the Vikings 41-17 on Sunday afternoon. While the first couple of drives yielded few points, the Packers quickly took control in the first half and never looked back. A big part of the win was the dominance of the defense. After the game, Rasul Douglas talked about when he knew the game was over. Spoiler alert, it was very early in the game.
I asked Rasul Douglas at one point he could look at the Vikings and know the game was over.
“We knew it was over from the jump. We knew as soon as we went out there and got the goal-line stand, it was over.”

Rasul Douglas On The Dominance Of The Defense
The Vikings threatened early on. After a blocked punt, the Vikings took over at the Packers’ 1-yard line. The Packers’ defense made a huge goal-line stand and held the Vikings to three points. It was at that point that Douglas knew it was over. “We knew as soon as we went out there and got the goal-line stand, it was over,” Rasul Douglas said after the game. It helped that immediately after that Keisean Nixon ran back a kick 105 yards for a touchdown. However, that goal-line stand set the tone for the defense for the entire game.
Packers’ Defense Shows Up
If the Packers’ defense does what they did on Sunday. They are going to be tough to beat. They made life miserable for Kirk Cousins. Four turnovers helped squash any momentum the Vikings may have tried to take away from the Packers. The Packers will need to keep this up if they are going to shut down a good Lions offense. The advantage they do have is they are at home where the Lions have been much weaker.
I agree with Rasul Douglas. That game felt over once the Vikings couldn’t get one yard. The Packers’ run defense has been subpar all season so the fact that they could not punch one in was a huge confidence booster. It is a win-and-in situation for the Packers. Hopefully, they can finish the job.
