Packers Legend LeRoy Butler To Be Honored At Halftime on TNF
LeRoy Butler has a long list of accomplishments as a member of the Packers. He spent his entire 12-year career with Green Bay. Butler is a Super Bowl champion, four-time first team all-pro, member of the 1990s all-decade team, and last but not least, a Hall of Famer. Also, Butler is known for inventing the famous “Lambeau Leap.” His first ‘leap’ was against the Los Angeles Raiders on Dec. 26, 1993.
Nevertheless, Butler takes a lot of pride in staying with one team for his entire career. “To know that my name will go up there with all those guys, and it’ll say from 1990-2001, with one team, one team, that means a lot,” Butler said. “Because not many guys have done that. Only a few, in all 32 teams, Hall of Famers (who) stay with one franchise.”
On Thursday night, Butler will be able to look up and see this name forever enshrined in Packers history. Certainly, this will be the icing on the cake for an already impressive career. But he won’t be alone, He’ll see his name up on the southeast façade along with 27 other Packers Hall of Famers, where he’ll be remembered forever.
