The Packers secondary has talent but there is plenty of question marks going into 2023
With the Green Bay Packers entering a new era at quarterback under Jordan Love, it could put more pressure on Joe Barry’s defense to play better than they did last season.
The Packers are coming off a disappointing 2022 season on the defensive side despite the talent that they have. And with the team addressing some spots there in free agency and the draft, the expectation is that they should be better in 2023.
As we sit here going through OTA’s and minicamp, the 33rd team is rolling out their position rankings for the upcoming season. On Monday, their secondary rankings were revealed and while Green Bay was No. 1 in the NFC North, they feel into the category of tier 5 which is ‘real potential but a lot of question marks’:

The Packers’ secondary is led by Jaire Alexander who will have one starting spot and early on, he’s been paired with Rasul Douglas on the outside and Keisean Nixon in the slot. That’s what the rotation has been in OTA’s and minicamp but someone like Eric Stokes could force his way into a starting spot.
Overall, the depth isn’t great in that secondary but it does have talent. It’s now up to Barry to get the most out of it in that Packers secondary.
