Monday was an extremely busy day for the Packers front office. A flurry of moves saves them almost 27 million against the cap. With the news of Davante Adams not willing to play on a franchise tag for 2022, this couldn’t have come at a better time.
Roster Moves:
- LB Za’Darius Smith was released which freed up 15.75 Million against the cap
- OL Billy Turner was released which freed up 3.142 Million against the cap
- Preston Smith signed a 4 year extension which freed up 8 million against the cap
These moves should get Green Bay under the salary cap for 2022 or close to it. The next priorities will be:
- Davante Adams Contract
- Rasul Douglas Contract
- Jaire Alexander Contract
- De’Vondre Campbell Contract
All of which could help with the 2022 cap hit as well.
