Packers Quarterback Cuts Ties With Major Sponsor

There were many businesses and advertisers who cut ties with Aaron Rodgers last season. The star quarterback’s COVID-19 vaccine stance made him a very controversial figure. Not that Rodgers needs to the extra cash. He is, after all, the highest paid quarterback in the history of the NFL. The same is not true, though, of Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert. Despite being a third-string quarterback, Benkert has gathered a pretty big following on social media, especially among Packers fans. He is also a noteworthy figure in the gaming industry and had been a spokesperson for G-Fuel Energy for quite some time. On Thursday, however, he ended that partnership.

Have been with GFuel for a while now, but officially sent in my request for immediate release.

    People > Product

Sad day & hope those affected land on their feet very quickly.

Remember: Kurt Benkert took on Greg Jennings in heated Twitter feud

Why Did Kurt Benkert Ask for a Release from His Deal with G-Fuel?

Kurt Benkert has always been a man of the people, as I wrote about last year. True to himself, when he found out about what happened to several G-Fuel employees, he could not in good conscience keep endorsing the product.

Today G Fuel fired 7 of their partner/talent managers without warning. The employees were told it was a part of a "restructuring" for the company

Although it comes a day after a higher up in the company is alleged of using a derogatory slur whilst in a team wide call. pic.twitter.com/qM3IXT6EHb

Now, while those two incidents in the above Tweet (the firings and the slur) both sound terrible on their own, reports are that they are actually related:

What I've been told is that shortly after the upper figure from G Fuel used the derogatory remarks and slur, some employees in the call sent complaints to HR, and within 24 hours all 7 managers were fired

If you own a business and are in need of some creative design team members, or if you know anyone who is looking to hire, please visit the following Tweet for the handles of the seven G-Fuel employees that were fired.

If anyone in the industry is hiring, please consider my former coworkers from G FUEL.

Absolute pleasure of mine to have worked with them, and I will put in my vouch for them🙏

And as for Kurt Benkert, he still has his contract with the Green Bay Packers. In addition to that, Benkert is a professional e-sport athlete for Spacestation Gaming. He also has an endorsement deal with the greatest of all gas stations, Kwik Trip. Oh, and of course, he still owns Mike Florio.
