Jordan Love did not ask for the Green Bay Packers to trade up for him in the 2020 NFL Draft. He did not ask to be buried on the practice squad for his entire rookie season. Nor did he ask for so-called fans to boo him and actively cheer for his failure in the NFL. At one point, it seemed as if Jordan Love was the heir-apparent to Aaron Rodgers, following two “down” seasons in 2018 and 2019. After two MVP seasons in a row, though, Rodgers has shown no signs of slowing down and is under contract for at least three more years. Jordon Love’s future with the Packers is now out of his control.

Jordan Love Says His Future Is Not Under His Control
Two years ago, it was Aaron Rodgers who was saying his future in Green Bay was not in his control. However, his otherworldly play over the past two years have given him the power to regain control of his future. The same will probably not be true for Jordan Love.

In a recent interview, Jordan Love addressed his future:
“I am human. And that stuff’s [talk about his future] going to be there, regardless. But I think I do a pretty good job at compartmentalizing it. I don’t want think about that stuff. I can’t control what’s going on… no idea what might happen. So rather than stressing about things that might happen, things that might not happen, I’m just here right now. I’ll take what I’m given and run with it.
For months, there have been various trade rumors surrounding Love. This was especially true in the days leading up to and during the 2022 NFL Draft. However, the Packers received no offers that they found good enough to trade their backup quarterback. Interestingly, many draft experts and scouts believed that had Jordan Love been in this year’s draft, he would have been the first quarterback taken.
With Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay for at least the next three years, Love will almost certainly not ever be the regular starting quarterback for the Packers. The rest of the NFL world, like Jordan Love, will have to wait and see what happens.
