The Green Bay Packers are coming off of playing their second preseason game Friday night posting a 20-10 victory over the New Orleans Saints. While in the midst of competition the Packers have to make roster cuts before the deadline approaches on Tuesday. One rookie outside linebacker, Chauncey Manac turned out to be one of the new players that was dropped from the roster early Sunday afternoon.
Manac is not the only rookie or player to be cut from the roster, but it may have come as a surprise to some that may have heard his name coming out of college with the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Raging Cajuns.
Rookie Outside Linebacker Chauncey Manac

Chauncey Manac Statistics
Chauncey Manac played in 46 games as an outside linebacker for the Louisiana Raging Cajuns. His totals included 97 solo tackles, 33.5 tackles for loss, 19.5 sacks, one interception, four passes defensed, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. His stats helped him become a second team All-Sun Belt selection in 2021. He did play one season at Georgia in 2016.
During his two preseason games with the Packers, the rookie linebacker Manac played 32 snaps including three pressures, and one sack for 0 yards against the Saints. Though the team has to make roster cuts, he did have an opportunity to showcase himself. Unfortunately, he fell short of being able to remain in a Packer uniform.
This means that the regular season is coming, it is just a matter of being patient in the coming weeks. The final cut before the regular season starts will be on August 30th.
