Tuesday, the Green Bay Packers held a workout with a Super Bowl winner
The Green Bay Packers have been busy with roster moves this week. On Tuesday, the team released two wide receivers and brought in help at linebacker. It appears the Packers might not be done adding to their practice squad. The Packers recently held a workout; the team looked at two positions and one player with Super Bowl experience.
The Packers brought in six players per Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network. Three were linebackers; three were offensive linemen.
- OG Blaise Andries
- OT Myron Cunningham
- OG Ryan Hunter
- LB Clarence Hicks
- LB Joel Iyiegbunie
- LB D.Q. Thomas

Thomas, a linebacker, was added to the roster Tuesday.
The Packers need help at both positions
The team can use depth at both the linebacker and offensive line positions. Against the Chicago Bears, rookie Quay Walker struggled against the Bears’ running offense. More competition might be needed in the locker room to get the linebackers to elevate their play. The Packers can also use Thomas or another linebacker for special teams.
The offensive line played better in Week 2. Elgton Jenkins’ return seemed to bolster the unit against a weakened Bears roster. But the Packers need to look at potential replacements on the offensive line struggling with many injuries.
Ryan Hunter has Super Bowl experience
Most of the names on the list haven’t seen much action in NFL regular season games. Joel Iyiegbuniwe has played a little for the Bears. Offensive guard Ryan Hunter probably has the best group experience that worked out on Tuesday. Hunter was with the Kansas City Chiefs during their 2019 season. He was on the 53-man roster when they won the Super Bowl over the San Francisco 49ers.
Hunter has been with the Las Angeles Chargers on the practice squad for the previous two seasons. He was waived by the Chargers this past August. Hunter, if signed by the Packers, could give guidance to a young Packers offensive line.
