The Packers made some roster moves on Tuesday letting go of two players. Packers fans rejoiced as wide receiver Amari Rodgers was released. What was more surprising was the release of running back Kylin Hill. After his ACL injury, many fans were looking forward to seeing what Hill could bring to the table. His release left many Packers fans puzzled. In a press conference on Tuesday, head coach Matt LaFleur revealed that Kylin Hill had an attitude problem.
Kylin Hill Had An Attitude Problem
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said the decision to release RB Kylin HIll was less about performance:
"I realize he is in a loaded room but regardless of your role — no matter how big or small — we expect guys to come to work and be supportive."— Rob Demovsky (@RobDemovsky) November 15, 2022
Matt LaFleur is not one to talk badly about his players. In his three-plus years, I don’t think I can ever think of a time when LaFleur came out and talked bad about a player. This speaks to how bad Kylin Hill was for the locker room. Reading between the lines, Kylin Hill was not happy with his role on the team. Kylin Hill had an attitude problem and that is something that the Packers have never stood for. It is always about the team and doing what is best for the team. Hill’s attitude is what led to his release.
Kylin Hill’s Attitude Must’ve Been Bad
Hill had barely been with the team a week. For him to be off the team shows how potentially toxic his attitude was to the team. He was not able to accept the role he had with the team and it cost him his job. With the comments coming out about why Hill was released, it will be interesting to see if another team gives him a chance. I applaud the coaching staff for not putting up with a locker room issue. This season already has enough problems without adding that into the mix.
There have not been many details on the Kylin Hill attitude problem. It will be interesting to see if in the coming weeks more comes out about what exactly happened.
