Amari Rodgers is no longer with the Packers
The Green Bay Packers have a lot of frustrations with Amari Rodgers. The Packers 2021 third-round draft pick has struggled in his role with special teams. He hasn’t been used much on the offense. Packers fans have grown tired of watching Rodgers fumble the ball on kick and punt returns.
Head coach Matt LaFleur said Monday that they planned to go another direction on special teams. According to a statement by the Packers Tuesday, the announced Rodgers was released by the team. He was released with running back Kylin Hill:
“The Green Bay Packers released WR Amari Rodgers and RB Kylin Hill. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Tuesday.
Rodgers was originally selected by the Packers in the third round (No. 85 overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft and played in 26 regular-season games with one start and one postseason contest.”
Hill was a 2021 draft pick as well. He appeared in ten total games for the Packers.
Amari Rodgers never seemed to have a good rapport with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Amari has eight catches for 95 yards during his time with the Packers.
The coaching staff said recently they liked Amari as a player, but his jersey had put the team in a tough spot this season. That jersey will not be with the team against the Tennessee Titans on TNF this week.
