Packers have made a decision to move on from one of their punters. Was there a punter battle?
The Packers potentially made the decision to release punter Pat O’ Donnell due to age and their salary cap situation. O’ Donnell finished this last season towards the bottom in terms of net yardage.
Another reason O’ Donnell could have been cut was his age. O’ Donnell is 32 years old and was a bit pricey for the Packers. Cutting O’ Donnell saves the Packers some money and have named Daniel Whelan their punter.
O’ Donnell, in 2023, punted 52 times with just under 45 yards per punt.
