NFL news: More than a few Green Bay Packers fans out there believe that David Bakhtiari still remains to be one of the top offensive tackles in the game today. It has indeed been a couple of years since he’s been named an All-Pro and Pro Bowl OT, but there’s still no denying that this man is still playing at an elite level.
Well, this does not seem to be the belief of a multitude of NFL coaches, scouts, executives, and players who recently took part in a league-wide survey to identify the Top 10 OTs in the NFL. According to these folks, David Bakhtiari had no room on their list.
Green Bay Packers Star David Bakhtiari Snubbed From Top 10 OT List
ESPN recently published their annual list of best players in each position and Green Bay fans have had a particular interest in the top OTs list. This is primarily because of the fact that David Bakhtiari was completely snubbed from the Top 10. He did make it as an honorable mention, but this did not stop Green Bay supporters from airing their grievances on Twitter:
Bakhtiari is a top 5 tackle. Without a doubt. Wild to see the voting https://t.co/37N7jcBNT3

Wow, the David Bakhtiari disrespect is real…
Bakhtiari was 1 of 2 OTs to not allow a single sack or QB hit last season.
Since 2019, Bakhtiari has 1,489 pass blocking snaps, and he’s allowed only 3 sacks.
What a joke of a list. https://t.co/FNGwWsJAZ4

I can’t believe that I have to defend David Bakhtiari to Packers fans…
Being injured doesn’t take away from how elite he is, and he proves that every time he steps on the field.

Truth. I’m so tired of the Bakhtiari slander. He’s easily one of the greatest Packers linemen of all time and he’s gone to hell and back with injury and is still one of the best there is in the NFL today. https://t.co/2j9m63CryK

Cannot believe the disrespect of Packers. David Bakhtiari left off the top 10 offensive tackles? Quick stats for David Bakhtiari from 2022:
Pass block win rate: 95% (1st)
Sacks allowed: 1 (1st among tackles)
Blown-block rate: 1.6% (3rd among tackles)https://t.co/YWHIu5uMAr— Jeridiah Lewis (@DlFluffy) July 15, 2023
At a certain point we have to start asking WHICH executives, players, coaches, and scouts are being asked these questions…
Because having David Bakhtiari and Aaron Jones outside of the top 10 at their position groups is just straight up goofy. https://t.co/VzaqhAa1H8

David Bakhtiari Will Play Undeniably Crucial Role For Green Bay Packers In 2023
Aaron Rodgers’ summer exit has left a gaping hole in Green Bay’s offense. Simply put, they won’t be able to replace what the four-time NFL MVP brings to the table for the team. They will need to try, though.
David Bakhtiari will be one of the Packers’ best players on the roster sans Rodgers. As such, a lot will be expected from the 31-year-old as he enters his 11th season in the league. He may no longer be the All-Pro tackle he once was — barring a sensational resurgence this coming season, of course — but this dude still has a lot of gas left in his tank. He might need to use every drop of that this year.
