The Green Bay Packers decided to move on from star left tackle David Bakhtiari this off-season. It wasn’t an easy decision to move on from one of the best left tackles in franchise history, however, his recent injury history coupled with his cap hit was just too much for the team.
On Thursday the NFL released the schedule for the upcoming season, and Bakhtiari had a pretty emotional reaction.

The Packers had an epic video release of their schedule this year. Bakhtiari took notice:

Baktiari was specifically reacting to the fact that Green Bay’s video had the fourth most interactions on social media in the league with 2.3 million views.
The Packers released their schedule last year on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Bakhtiari tweeted directly at Jason Wahlers, asking if he signed off on it. Bakhtiari responded to Wahlers’ tweet with “Depends on whether you like it or not.”
“It’s booty cheeks!” Bakhtiari tweeted. “I could’ve asked an aspiring TikTok creator that’s still in high school to create something better. Did I clear that up for you?”
Clearly Bakhtiari is proud of how far the Packers’ social media team has come in just one year.
Bakhtiari Is Still Looking For A New Home In 2024
The New York Jets were a popular landing spot for Bakhtiari last year because of his friendship with Aaron Rodgers. Bakhtiari, however, was injured, so a trade never occurred. Having signed Tyron Smith in free agency, traded for Morgan Moses, and drafted Olumuyiwa Fashanu, the Jets are no longer an option for the veteran offensive tackle.
Even though Bakhtiari will not be reunited with Rodgers, he may be able to protect another future Hall of Fame quarterback. Kingsley Suamataia and Wanya Morris will compete for the starting left tackle spot for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs should, however, consider signing Bakhtiari as a way to protect Patrick Mahomes’ blindside. He is regarded as one of the best offensive tackles in the league when he is healthy.
It is likely that a contender will pursue him when the time is right.
