NFL news: There’s going to be a lot of pressure on Jordan Love this coming season. He’s finally gotten the keys to the castle for the Green Bay Packers, and now that he’s set to step out of Aaron Rodgers’ towering shadow, he has a golden opportunity to show the football world what he’s truly capable of.
If you ask former New York Jets general manager turned ESPN broadcaste Mike Tannenbaum, he is of the belief that Love will indeed shock the league in 2023.
NFL News: Mike Tannenbaum Believes Jordan Love is Best QB in NFC North
As a an NFL analyst on ESPN, Mike Tannenbaum has had his fair share of hot takes. However, you could probably say that his extremely high praise on Jordan Love has to take the cake:
“The best quarterback in the division to me is gonna be Jordan Love,” Tannenbaum said on ESPN. “… [The Packers] didn’t fly out to California to beg Aaron Rodgers to come back. They know exactly what they have in Jordan Love, which by the way is the best running back duo in the league in Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon.
Tannenbaum also pointed out that not only do the Pakcers have nine first-round picks on defense but also, two up-and-coming wideouts in Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs. The former high-ranking Jets executive firmly believes that Love has the necessary weapons around him to lead the Packers to the NFC North title:
“If Jordan Love just plays point guard, relies on two geart running backs, and a really good defense, Green Bay wins the division, and they have a bright young quarterback,” Tannenbaum continued. “If we can trust Green Bay on one thing, it’s quarterbacks. (Brett) Farve to Rodgers, and now Rodgers to Jordan Love. They are acting the exact same way they did a decade ago.”
This man Mike Tannenbaum really said that Jordan Love is the best QB in the NFC North. Not Goff or Cousins JORDAN LOVE!! Smh. Louis Riddick gave good points about Goff and I can’t knock that at all but Tannenbaum’s take is just egregiously awful. pic.twitter.com/A5jYuaGAlZ

Wow. Tannenbaum just really compared the Packers’ Brett Favre-Aaron Rodgers transition to their current shift from A-Rod to Jordan Love. Even Green Bay fans have to be scratching their heads over this one.
NFL news: Did Mike Tannenbaum Completely Forget About the Other QBs in the Division?
Let’s take a logical approach in analyzing this bold statement. The other teams in the NFC North are the Detroit Lions, the Chicago Bears, and the Minnesota Vikings. That’s Jared Goff, Justin Fields, and Kirk Cousins, respectively, who you could each very well make a case as the top QB in the division. As a matter of fact, you can even argue that among this quartet, it’s actually Jordan Love who’s at the bottom of the barrel. Well, Mike Tannenbaum obviously sees something in the young Packers quarterback that most of us don’t. We shall soon find out if he’s correct.
