Green Bay Packers: Former NFL Quarterback Reveals How Far He Thinks Jordan Love Can Lead the Team

When the Green Bay Packers traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets in favor of Jordan Love, many NFL analysts and fans immediately assumed that the team would play poorly in 2023. While there are still many naysayers who think Love will be terrible, more and more national media personalities are realizing just how talented the Packers’ roster is.

With such a talented roster, Love does not need to be the third consecutive Hall of Fame quarterback in lead the Packers (though it would be nice). In fact, one NFL analyst believes that if Love is just an average quarterback, Green Bay will be fighting for a playoff spot.

ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky Believes Jordan Love Can Lead the Green Bay Packers to the Playoffs

Earlier today on ESPN’s “Get Up,” former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky was debating with another host regarding the Packers’ 2023 record. Though he agrees that the Detroit Lions deserve to be the favorites to win the division, he believes that Love and the Packers should make the Playoffs/steal the division:

“If Jordan Love is average, this team is playing for a playoff spot in December. … If he’s anything like a first-round pick should be, this is a playoff team.”

Towards, the end of the video, Orlovsky says, “If Jordan Love is average, the Packers will be playing for a Playoff spot in December. If he’s average! If he’s anything like a first-round pick should be, this is a Playoff team.”

Last season, San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy, was able to lead his team to the Playoffs by just playing within the offense’s system. There are many people who believe that Matt LaFleur has a similar system. However, Aaron Rodgers forced LaFleur to ditch anything he didn’t like.

With Love under center now, LaFleur can run the offense the way he wants to. As he and Coach Shanahan are from the same coaching tree, their offenses are similar. In theory, all Love will have to do is manage the offense, and if he can do that, Green Bay will be in good shape.

If he can do more than that, the Packers could run away with the division.
