The Green Bay Packers watched their NFC North rival, the Minnesota Vikings, go on a recent mini-wide receiver signing spree as the team announced a new addition Monday morning.
The Vikings are top-heavy at wide receiver. Justin Jefferson is considered by many in the league to be the best wide receiver in the NFL. The Vikings decided Jefferson wasn’t enough, as they drafted Jordan Addison in the first round in April’s draft in a bid to rally open up their speedy passing attack.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins should feel confident in his pass catchers on the first unit. The Vikings starting tight end is projected to be T.J. Hockenson, who they received in a trade from the Detroit Lions last season. (The Packers attempted to trade for Hockenson but missed out to the Vikings last year.)
A Green Bay Packers rival just signed two wide receivers in two days
The Vikings are still working on upgrading their wide receivers unit before their first preseason game. The Vikings signed former first-round pick N’Keal Harry Sunday. According to a statement by the Vikings, the team signed Jacob Copeland after they waived Cephus Johnson III.

Copeland is a UDFA initially signed by the Tennessee Titans after this year’s draft. Copeland was waived last week. The Titans’ wide receiver roster became much harder to make after the team signed DeAndre Hopkins this summer.
Copeland played college football for Florida and transferred to Maryland for the 2022 season. He’ll join a talented Vikings wide receiver corps. But Copeland could snag a position on the practice squad if he performs well in the preseason.
The Vikings are showing they’re serious about having a top passing game this year.
