Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones has become known as one of the kindest and respectful players in the league. His character and charitable donations even made him a nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award. His latest act of kindness came in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Green Bay Packers Running Back Gives Students a Day to Remember
The story started when students at Classical Studies Magnet Academy had their scheduled field day canceled. The students were supposed to have a field day at a park in Bridgeport because the school lacked field space. However, their field day was canceled because of poor air quality conditions in the city.
Danielle Gray, a teacher at the school and a friend of Jones, mentioned the situation to the Green Bay Packers star. Jones donated money to give the kids an experience they would never forget. The kids had a field day filled with pizza, ice cream, water balloons and even a bouncy house.
“It wasn’t just your regular field day, some of the kids were saying time it was the best day ever because of all the extra stuff they got to use the money towards. So, I just hope that I know everybody remembers their field day when they grow up so I really just that the kids in Bridgeport remember theirs.”
-Gray to News 12 Connecticut
Students Returning the Favor
Aaron Jones clearly understands how important field day was to the students. The kids also understand what Jones did for them was special. They took the time to write out cards for the Green Bay Packers back. Gray told News 12 Connecticut that she would be sending all the cards to Aaron Jones.
