Dalvin Cook made his decision regarding a contract the Miami Dolphins offered him recently. The Dolphins are one of three AFC East teams in the hunt to sign Cook this offseason. The New England Patriots and New York Jets are also interested in the star running back.
The Dolphins attempted to get Cook on their roster before the draft by negotiating with the Minnesota Vikings for a possible trade. They failed to hammer out a trade deal in April and have failed to sign Cook with a few weeks to go until training camp.
According to Jeff Darlington of ESPN, Cook is “not willing” to sign the deal the Dolphins sent his way. Cook, who has $2 million in guaranteed money coming from the Vikings this season, can drag out his free agency to squeeze more money out of an AFC East contender.
Update: Dalvin Cook’s is ‘Not willing to accept’ the current contract offer from the #Dolphins, per @JeffDarlington
The Dolphins still have a contract offer on the table for Cook but he’s hesitant to commit to their current proposal.

Sounds like Miami lowballed initially and even though progress has been made they still haven’t decided to come up on their offer. Ball has to be in the Dolphins court. https://t.co/lmBFSHS91I

What’s missing on this contract? Dollars? Term? Both? I know Chris Grier puts a contract down and doesn’t budge on free agents. But if you are “all in”, compromise on this and get him into the building. #FinsUp https://t.co/jy9lNx7GrM

Update: Dalvin Cook’s team heard Ian Rapoport say he’s a good fit for NYJ and has continued to fuel rumors of interest to drum up a bigger price tag on the Miami Dolphins’ offer sheet since that’s where he’ll inevitably sign. https://t.co/gFLWgmdeBd
