On Wednesday, a Green Bay Packers NFC North rival released a former first-round pick at wide receiver. The Minnesota Vikings came into training camp with four wide receivers that had been taken in the first round.
Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison were first-rounders picked by the Vikings. N’Keal Harry and Jalen Reagor were selected by other teams. The Vikings released Harry last week. The Vikings were reportedly looking to shop Reagor this week.
The Minnesota Vikings release Jalen Reagor
According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, the Vikings released Reagor Wednesday.

Reagor, who was traded to the Vikings last year, had a solid preseason with the Vikings this August. Reagor led the Vikings in receiving during the preseason with eight catches for 93 yards. The Vikings decided to move on Reagor, even after a strong showing this month.
Could the Green Bay Packers sign Reagor?
The Packers have a young wide receiver corps this season. They added a former Vikings rookie tight end Wednesday off of waivers to add to their tight end room featuring 2023 draft picks Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft. Head coach Matt LaFleur seemed interested in adding a veteran early in the offseason.
However, the Packers have chosen to go through training camp with a young roster on offense. Reagor would be an intriguing candidate for the Packers to bring on this season. The youthful 24-year-old wide receiver isn’t a veteran, but he does have a few years of NFL experience with potential upside for a team that will need both attributes as the season progresses.

The Packers could reach out to Reagor. But general manager Brian Gutekunst wants quarterback Jordan Love to grow with the young guys he’s added in the draft. I’d doubt the Packers would add Reagor at this point in the season.
