If Aaron Rodgers is traded he will likely end up in the AFC
It’s only late January and already the Aaron Rodgers rumors are flying around each and every day.
As the NFL prepares for championship weekend, experts are keeping their eyes on the offseason and where players could possibly end up. That includes Rodgers who has already seen his name being thrown around in possible trade rumors by NFL insiders. And on Tuesday, that was no different.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter offered more insight into details on a potential trade for Rodgers. And if Rodgers is on the move, it appears he will be heading to an AFC team as that’s the Packers’ preference.
Update: The #Packers will not be trading Aaron Rodgers within the NFC Conference.
They "will explore" the idea of trading the QB exclusively to the AFC, per @AdamSchefter pic.twitter.com/RJef7DGNSB

Look, that makes a lot of sense. If Green Bay does trade Rodgers, they want him out of the NFC as they would have to potentially face him during the regular season or playoffs.
Already we have seen a team like the New York Jets be a possible landing spot for Rodgers. They flirted with the playoffs last season but were held back due to inconsistent play at quarterback led by former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson.
The Jets do have the assets to pull off the trade as well and Aaron Rodgers would be in a spot with a really good defense, weapons on offense, and the chance to get into the playoffs.
