NFL: The Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots are participating in joint practices this week. Today marks the second day in a row the two teams have faced each other. It was reported today that the Packers had one of their rookie tight ends go down with an injury.
Green Bay Packers Rookie Tight End Tucker Kraft Goes Down With An Injury During Practice With The New England Patriots (NFL)
Reported by multiple sources:
Tucker Kraft heading inside with a trainer. He was slow to get up after taking a hit during team period.
Tucker Kraft, who walked off gingerly after a hard tackle, is now being walked off the field by trainers.
Just got to see the physicality of Patriots rookie LB Marte Mapu. Laid out Packers TE Tucker Kraft, who’s now leaving practice with trainers.
Kraft injured his knee in practice before their first pre-season game vs the Bengals, however, that did not prevent him from seeing action in Green Bay’s first exhibition game. Kraft entered the game in the third spot on the depth chart on Green Bay’s official website, but with fellow tight end Tyler Davis going down with a knee injury that could cost him significant time, Kraft is likely set to move up to the second spot behind fellow rookie Luke Musgrave.
Kraft was selected in the third round of April’s draft. The South Dakota State product broke out with a 65-773-6 receiving line in 15 games in 2021 but last season was limited to 27-348-3 in eight games due to injury. He’s a capable receiver and blocker who came in right around average in all measurements and athletic drills at April’s combine.
*Update On Packers Tight End Tucker Kraft*
Kraft jogged back out of Don Hutson Center after going in with a trainer following the hit. He finished the practice with the starting lineup. For now, it appears the injury was insignificant. More updates to follow.
