The Green Bay Packers have had an up-and-down start to the season. Sitting at 2-2 is great considering the adversity they have had to overcome. However, the lows have been very low on both sides of the ball. This was punctuated on Thursday night when the team got shellacked by the Lions. The good news for the Packers is the strength of schedule is kind to them for the rest of the season.

Green Bay Packers Strength Of Schedule
As of right now, the Packers only have three more opponents with winning records on their schedule. Two of those games are at home. The only road game against an opponent with a winning record is the Lions on Thanksgiving. They are fortunate to get teams like the Chiefs and Buccaneers at home this season. While records can change by the time the two teams face off, the Packers have very winnable games on their schedule. The next four are the Raiders, Broncos, Vikings, and Rams. All of those teams are beatable and with a bye week in there, the team could get key pieces back to help the offense run more smoothly.

Great For Development
This is great for Jordan Love and his development. He will get opportunities against weaker opponents and not be thrust into hostile environments too often. Getting this team into the playoffs would also be a huge boost. While I don’t think they have a legitimate shot at winning it all this year, getting the experience of a playoff game could pay dividends down the road for the young team. On the flip side, if struggles continue to happen, it will say a lot about how the development of players is going.

Obviously, a weak schedule doesn’t mean guaranteed wins. The Green Bay Packers still have to go out and play well enough to win. However, the strength of schedule does mean that there may be more room for error in each game which will benefit the young team.
