Former Green Bay Packers kick Mason Crosby remains unsigned, but that does not mean fans of various NFL teams do not want their teams to go out and get him. Recently, Packers fans all but demanded that the front office bring Crosby back after rookie Anders Carlson struggled during his first week of training camp.
Carlson, though, has been on fire lately, drilling eight of nine kicks during family night and five of six (including three from 50+ yards) on Monday. At the moment, things are looking up for the young kicker in Green Bay.
So where does that leave Crosby? Currently unsigned, there are not many teams that have publicly expressed interest in the Packers’ all-time leading scorer. The fanbase of the Dallas Cowboys, though, is desperate for Jerry Jones to reunite Crosby with his former head coach, Mike McCarthy.
Could Former Green Bay Packers Kicker Mason Crosby End Up with the Dallas Cowboys?

If Packers fans were frustrated when they had one kicker struggling in training camp (albeit, the only kicker in training camp), imagine how Dallas Cowboys fans must be feeling. They have two kickers that are struggling in second-year player Tristan Viscaino and rookie Brandon Aubrey.
Viscaino has made just 22 of 35 field goals in camp and Aubrey has made 26 of 35.
Their combined struggles have led many Cowboys fans to call for the team to sign Crosby or some other veteran. Clarence E. Wolf Jr. of The Fort Worth Star Telegram wrote:
“McCarthy has experience with Crosby from his time with the Green Bay Packers. Crosby is the Packers’ all-time leading scorer with 1,918 points. Last season, he made 25-of-29 field goals, a ninth season of at least an 80% success rate and his career rate is 81.4%.”
Todd Brock of CowboysWire also named Crosby as a potential veteran option for Dallas. Another CowboysWire writer wrote:
“Crosby isn’t the booming kicker Maher was for the Cowboys in 2022 but he’s consistent from short and hasn’t missed a regular season FG under 30 yards since 2011. He only missed one kick under 50 yards in 2022 so he’s in many ways the polar opposite from what Dallas had in Maher in 2022.”
Since the start of this article, the Cowboys announced that they had waived Viscaino. Perhaps a reunion between McCarthy and Crosby will happen sooner than later.
